Cool Cat

This cat thinks he's pretty cool ... and being knit almost entirely in the round, we think he's pretty cool, too! You only need one skein of feltable wool yarn and size US 8 double-pointed needles to make him come to life. The 6-page pattern includes knitting, felting and embroidering instructions.

Garden Rabbits

Meet the

Tapestry Rabbit

and The Topiary Rabbit!

These little bunnies are definitely not your everyday, garden-variety rabbits!  But they certainly bring a little of the outdoors inside, no matter what the weather! Both are knit completely in the round (including their ears!) from bottom to top. There's nothing to sew, except to close up the hole on the bottom after felting and stuffing! You'll only need one skein of worsted-weight wool yarn and size US 8 double-pointed needles to knit the Tapestry Rabbit. Hold a strand of novelty yarn along with the wool to knit the Topiary Rabbit. Finished size for the Tapestry Rabbit is approximately 7 inches tall after felting. The Topiary Rabbit is a little bigger all around. The 6-page pattern includes directions for knitting, felting and finishing.

Elephant Pattern

The 8-page elephant pattern has directions to knit with one strand of wool yarn. I almost ran out, though, as the ears take up quite a lot of yarn! I'd recommend buying two skeins of a 220-yard wool yarn for this project. I've assumed she's a "she" as she doesn't have tusks! Here, she has blue glass eyes with pupils and a felt mouth, but you could use black, shoe-button glass eyes or embroider her eyes if you'd prefer.. Her limbs are string jointed with waxed thread. $2.50

Lion Pattern

Lion's mane and tail are knit with one strand of wool yarn held together with one strand of wool. His body and legs are knit with wool. He has amber glass eyes with pupils and is string jointed with waxed thread. His nose and mouth are embroidered. You may purchase the pattern here for $2.50

White Sheep Pattern

White Sheep gets a great coat by knitting his body with one strand of wool held together with one strand of textured yarn. I've used Sirdar's Snuggly Bubbly, but you could substitute eyelash yarn for a furry sheep, instead. The 8-page pattern comes with all directions for knitting, felting and assembling. $2.50

Blue Jay Bird Pattern

This is a great project to try if you'd like to  experiment with all kinds of fiber media. The blue jay's body is first knitted in the round, then felted. Wool roving is then needle felted over the body form and finally his wings, tail feathers and beak are wet felted. You could substitute purchased felt for these pieces, instead; however. The 8-page pattern gives all instructions for knitting, felting, wet felting and needle felting. $2.50

Little Chick; Big Chick Pattern

The 8-page Little Chick; Big Chick pattern comes with complete directions for making both chicks. Big Chick uses size US 10 1/2 Double-Pointed Needles and Little Chick uses size US 8 Double-Pointed Needles. The beaks are wet felted, and the top feathers on Little Chick's head are cut from a purchased felt square.  $2.50

This goose is guaranteed not to honk when you pass by! He is knit in the round on size US 8 double-pointed needles, then felted in your washing machine.
